Just got my GNex last night. upgraded from a Droid X where i was running EncounterICS Beta3. Got to say the Nexus is an amazing phone. I do miss the X but so far i think i made the right choice. Just wish the phone did not feel so big in my hands.

Offically got it, unlocked and rooted it all within first 15min of getting home

Oh I got AOKP m3 running but still has the 4x4 grid not the 4x5 like I want, maybe missed it in settings?

Grab Nova Launcher, I'm pretty sure that has the option. Google for the xda hit.

AOKP should have Nova Launcher already and the option is in there like tgyberg said. If you do not want to use an after market launcher then you could disable Google Search and the bar will be gone, the only thing is then the app/function is disabled as well.
