i JUST UPGRADED TO THE 6.16 VERSION--DON'T LIKE IT. CAN I GO BACK TO WHAT I HAD? IF SO, HOW?

Oh okay, no that is the official stock build of ICS. You are unfortunately stock on that OS now. There was news they are working on an update that should be released mid August though that might fix some of the issues people are having.

I am running the .215 leak of the OS and it is great, I am having no issues anymore.

Alot of people complained about .211 ... you might consider upgrading to the .215 leak, it's much better and it will also improve battery life, and it's very speedy too. :)
