I just upgraded to the Droid yesterday and already the lack of a "me" avatar in my text message conversations is driving me crazy.

Is there any way to change this picture?

I don't have a contact for myself or anything of the sort, and I couldn't find anything suitable in the settings. I'm probably missing something, so any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Haha that eventually started bugging me too, I just created a contact for myself called "Me" and added my phone number and gmail account, then added the picture.

I too have this problem & thought to add myself to the contacts to resolve the issue, but... the real question is, "Why the hell do we have to do this now when it pulled over our Facebook avatars just fine before the update?" It's still pulling over everybody else's FB avatar, why not our own?

If this is the only solution to getting an avatar up in the messaging app for ourselves since the 2.2 update, so be it, but you still have to wonder... why?

OK, glad to know that I'm not the only one this was bugging. I realized that I didn't have a nifty avatar showing up in my conversations (VZ messaging or Google Voice) and it's bothering me. Is creating a contact for myself the only thing I can do?

On Hancent you have the option to put pictures from you and the person you're texting on the chat bubbles, pretty cool.

Thanks. Get this one. I changed my ex-wifes picture on her email on my gmail account and it changed MY picture too it also! So now when I text people I see a picture of my ex hugging her hot friend. Not good!

Change it back? Then change her picture from her account and not your gmail which synchs to your phone lol

Or if you're using hancent I think you can just search the gallery and give yurself and others pictures that way too
