Wow, approved by Verizon and everything. Looks like we're skipping the testing part and going straight to the release. Everybody keep your eyes open!

Wouldn't it be great if it came tonight? I know it won't, but thinking of it delights my imagination.

If verizon has approved the update, will that make it official? Or is it just a "soak" release?

It's not unusual for Verizon to post this information before the OTA is available......or before a SOAK has been completed. It does mean that the push out is coming soon.....

The SOAK will take place, though most likely with approval already in place from Verizon, as long as no issues crop up the OTA will roll out to the rest of the D4 users the next day.

We could see the SOAK Friday and the roll out start Sat/Sun day.

Will it be necessary to wipe the system cache before upgrading, or should a FDR suffice?

Assuming you pass the OTA requirments and don't need to fastboot, I would recommend doing a factory reset AND wiping cache.

Will it work if you don't wipe cache? Yes. Will you be getting the best experience by having ics and jb data mixing? No.

Does anyone know if OTA Rootkeeper will retain root after the upgrade? I suppose I should browse the Razr forums to find out.

Don't know for sure, but would imagine RootKeeper's backup would work with JB. Hopefully a soak tester will be able to tell us for sure. I don't know if I'll upgrade if I have to lose root.

OTA Rootkeeper worked fine. Just make sure you have backed up root with it....

No need to unroot or temp unroot, just install the OTA, run OTA Rootkeeper and select restore root.
