Text Messages & Reciving Blank Texts

I just upgraded to the Droid 2 and when people I text in the Verizon network, about 85 % of the time I receive a text from them saying that the text was blank and I have heard something about the tab key causing this and if anyone has found the correction or the way around please let me know.
Any Suggestions will work, thank you
