Just got my droid eris today, turned it on added a few numbers and starting texting. The problem is that when someone texts me it comes in as <pic>message then i get another message with just <pic> then i get a third message saying that media was removed from the previous messages, the person sending the texts gets a message saying that the text was received as plain text only because my phone does not support media, it's a smart phone, how in the world could it NOT support media???

Something like that has happened to me before, I got a Text that was longer than the 160 character limit and it told me the media objects were removed. I'm guessing it's either the stock messaging app for Android or something to do with Verizon's system for handling long texts.

Hm, interesting. Well, I'd try a different Messaging app, like ChompSMS or Handcent and see if it does it with those too.
