"Text message not sent" in Notifications bar

I have had the text message not sent logo and message displayed in my status bar for over 2 months now. I have a feeling of where it came from and I deleted that message, but it still remains as a notification. Does anyone know how I can turn this notification off all together or how I can fix this problem? Thanks so much for any assistance that you may offer.

Download handcent and look at the undelivered messages queue.
