Hmm scheduled texts would be unnecessary wouldn't they? Texts are saved until the phone receives them. If you receiver doesn't have the phone on they will get them when they check them.
Now if I was wanting to pull a prank maybe I would do a text, put the phone away, hang out with the victim, and watch the show. Or if I wanted to get away from my spouse I could do something like that. This would be unnecessary.
Now with emails, that is another thing. I've typed and email before a mission scheduled that if I didn't get back and delete it, it would be sent, that would serve a purpose.
ETA: IF you want to do groups, you need to go to your google contacts and set the groups online. I have found this most useful for contacting my AP History students.
