So for various reasons I have been out of the droid loop for the last few months. I recently acquired a tablet and was wondering what the status of wireless tethering via root methods was...not that I would ever utilize such a method (haha). I am on verizon and have a rooted droid x. From what the google has revealed to me, there was a block implemented around the beginning of june and there was a prompt work around via a new beta app.

To sum it up, my questions are:

Is there still a means to safely utilize your phone to tether without a contract?
If so, is this process legal in the eyes of verizon and/or the law?
What the possible ramifications for using wireless tether and have they been documented?

Call me a noob, but rather be safe than sorry. Thanks

Easy tether 1.1.1 - On a droidx2 2.3.4 running molten v2.. I tether my 3G and wireless on my PC.

Id have to say that if you dont have a contract and are tethering wirelessly whats the harm in that?

That app looks good. My tablet is wifi only so definitely no contract there. I already give verizon enough money so as it is.

    Thanks for the tip
