There's a huge long thread already on this subject, but I just want the basic info. I've heard good things, but I need a little more convincing to shell out $6.49 for an app! Is it worth it and why?
Thanks.

When I first got my Droid X, tasker was one of the first apps that I purchased. The original reason why I got it was to turn my wireless on/off near my house. I never did figure out how to do that consistently, but I use it for other things now. My biggest complaint is that it's a little difficult to understand. The more complicated the task, the harder it is to figure out.

It's worth the money, but it does have a steep learning curve.

I use setting profiles myself. I found it easier to setup. Tasker was overkill for me and for most people. But if you want to have your phone automatically do a great deal of things based on a large number of factors then Tasker will do that. Myself all I really wanted was 5 profiles. Home, Work, in car, meeting, and loud.
