Task Manager

There is a setting under Applications that starts task manager automatically - I turned it off on day one! My experience is that Android manages tasks and memory just fine on its own.

I received ICS this morning and noticed Task manager is now gone?

Yep... long press your home icon and you'll see the apps you have running, swipe left or right to clear them. ..

I still don't suggest any 3rd part app killers... but it is your device, do as you see fit :)

I would use smart actions. Any other task killer could cause connectivity issues.

Other than to kill your data at night, smart actions also has battery extender, which would help you during the day as well .

Ics does a good job of managing memory so no task manager is needed otherwise :)

^^^ +1 i use them on my bionic as well . I don't use task managers..
