Tapatalk gives you easy access to all of our forum foundry of sites and thousands of others on your phone. Makes it SO much easier to visit & post on your favorite forum without going through your browser. Definitely well worth the money IMO. The ONLY thing I don't like about it is that it lacks the "like" feature. But everything else runs great. Supposedly the devs are working on adding the like feature. Pick it up if you don't have it. You'll wonder how you went so long without it. :D

I just loaded it, It looks like the older version with the menus on top. Doesn't have the subscribed badge.

If you look at other forums like xda developers its well worth it

You can subscribe to a thread by going into the thread you want to subscribe to, then tap your menu button. A menu will pop up and give you the option to subscribe to that particular thread.
Sorry Jackie, I'm not familiar with the 'forums app", so I can't comment on that one.

I use the forums app to access the site, is that similar?

It has some additional features to it, and there are lots of sites that are tapatalk native.
Essentially gives you one app for multiple forums.

Not sure if I like the tapatalk format as much as I like the droid forum app format but it is nice having all my forum apps in one place. I was able to delete all my other forum apps but I'm still keeping the droid forum app. One thing I noticed is that even though I have read a thread, when I leave and go back to that forum, it will show that thread as unread.

Tap the menu button and hit refresh. Read threads will go away.

It's not working. I tried refreshing after reading the thread before leaving the thread and I tried refreshing after I came back to the thread but still does not show as read. I will keep playing with it to see what works. Maybe it just takes some time to register.

That can be irritating, but you'll eventually get used to just hitting refresh to make the read threads go away. You may need to go in and either clear the cache or uninstall and reinstall it. I've been using it for the past year and it hasn't been without its hiccups from time to time,(usually after an update) but it works great the majority of the time.

Aha, I think I got it. I was refreshing from the menu but I now notice there is a refresh link at the bottom of the thread you are reading, Duh! Takes me a little to get it but I get it eventually. That seems to do the trick. Thanks all!

This seems like a pretty neat idea, I see they support multiple forum types like vBulletin and MyBB. I take it this app store all your forum passwords?
