There are several better tablets coming out soon. There is one that is "similar" that you can buy now from Barnes and Nobles, the Novel or something. It's a 7" device that currently does not allow you to add new apps, but there will be an update supposedly. It's an 800x600 screen, and has web, music/video streaming, HDMI out, and more, for $200, and I believe you can buy it now. I think its Android 2.1, but it may be 1.6, can't recall.

The one to watch is the one out of India.. forget the name of it, but I think it's a 10" screen but has a e-ink reader and a color LCD in one, and a Tecra chipset (which apparently has caused delays until at least August), HDMI, and loads of stuff, although rough pricing is closer to that of iPad than $200 devices. I'll probably end up waiting this time.. got the moto droid and then the Incredible comes out 4 months later.. I would have waited for that had I known it was coming out.
