Hi, I'll get it out the way and say that I'm pretty much a total noob when it comes to roms. I followed the guide here: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/ha...hone-2-1-rom-o-c-mm-boot-animation-etc-7.html earlier today, and installed BB 0.9. Now that I have, I want to dick around with other roms and experiment to look at my options and decide on what I like, but I still don't know what I'm doing per se :p

The guide was really well put together, but it leaves me with a problem. I'm not an idiot, and like anyone else I'm pretty good at following instructions. The issue is that the entire guide, while detailing out every step, doesn't exactly say what each step DOES specifically, meaning that I don't know what I'll have to do/not have to do over again to start running another rom.

So, long story short, can anyone tell me exactly what I'll need to do to install a different rom? If it matters, I already backed up the BB I'm running now with Nandroid.

    Thanks.

You can try out adamz smoked glass rom. It is a very easy installation. Go to the thread and it has instructions for installation. Basically all you do is put it on it sd card and then install it. So ya just go to the thread and read instructions. Good luck

If you get ROM manager from the market, it offers a few roms that will be VERY easy to install.

here are the steps using SPR recovery to change roms:

-Update & backup any files you wish to restore, this will wipe /data
-Extract the files from the archive using WinRAR or a similar program
-Place the extracted folder (the ROM) into the "nandroid" folder on your sdcard
-Reboot into recovery mode (hold the power and "x" button at the same time)
-Wipe data/factory reset (do this twice!)
-Wipe cache partition (do this twice!)
    -Backup/Restore
    -Advanced Nandroid Restore
    -Choose backup (select the ROM)
    -Perform Restore
    -Enjoy!

*steps taken from pete's BB V0.9 instructions* but they apply to everything.
    its all pretty self explanatory.

Agree that Matt's tutorial is the most comprehensive rooting process available.

Anytime you want to switch roms just redo steps through 44.
