So anyways ... I'm addicted to my droid again... mostly because this SweeterHome deal is so hard to learn how to use... but once I learned??... there's so much stuff it can do

Your home screens aren't just left and right.. you can screen up and down too... and when you rotate to landscape.. that's a whole new screen too... I've got 20 screens goin and I don't see my Droid slowing down like it does with 7 on helix... this thing is ruining my marriage right now but I'll settle down with it in a couple days when I get my theme all worked out

Irritating at first cause I had to learn their form of editing their program... but it's addicting as hell now... better than playing appstore games.

    I am considering giving this a shot...but I have a few reservations

1)A new way to reorganize or reorder or rearrange my droid is probably the LAST thing I need right now

    • My wife will probably kill me:icon_eek:
    • My boss might finally notice the massive dip in productivity since obtaining the droid (Dec 28th 2009):icon_eek:
    2) I don't really understand what Sweeter home is

    • A ROM?
    • A launcher?
    • Does it play nice with other custom ROMs
      • Running Ultimate 7.8 using Helix
I first noticed it on a Screen shot from Corina...I liked how she could pack in all those apps and use those custom icons.

    ...decisions decisions

It's just a home replacement app, like home++ or gde... but it's way more involved and changes your screen functions entirely... instead of just making the same old droid format look different

From what I've seen it plays nice with all roms

Only thing it doesn't like is breaking rules... like the time I tried stretching and resizing the beautiful home widget... but then the worst problem it gave me was a lot of force closes while I figured out what I did wrong...

Still play with it every night

i'd be happy to give you a copy of mine to try out (this is a home replacement that you can save to your sdcard so you NEVER lose what you create and never have to start over even if you do a factory reset). i can replace the icons in my theme to be what YOU want and just imbed them. let me know :D

Most of my crashes were caused by resizing something that didn't react to well to resizing... such as

I placed a widget in a new panel and then resized the panel after the widget was already in it...

    Or

I placed a wallpaper in a picture panel and then changed the size of the panel after the picture was already in it..

Those two things caused a lot of problems with my SH... took me awhile to figure it out to...

Also I noticed it helped to strip all the widgets off my other home apps... I have helix and the stock home in my app file and I stripped them clean one day and that seemed to help everything too...

Lots of reboots after editing will make your life easier too... I know it's addicting... if I'm gonna sit there all night watching tv and editing SH... I reboot the phone every time a show ends on the tv and it helps to keep everything running smooth.

Is there already themes that can be loaded with this. I have seen it before when it was beta and thinks it looks good. I need to get my stuff done before trying it out.

I like the added amount of icons per row, or the amount of rows, but it sure can get too busy IMO.

    Still enjoyed looking at them.

It can look that way in static screenshots, but you can use what they call "springboards" which are essentially pop up menu/folders that you can customize.

This is a really cool app, and is not terribly difficult to figure out once you start playing with it, although it IS very deep and there are a ton of options.

Still working on tweaking mine, optimizing, etc.

FYI, there is another thread with a lot of discussion here:

    http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...acement-app-sweeter-home-public-beta-out.html

Just bear in mind, if you start at the beginning of that thread, there have been 3 or 4 builds/updates since the thread started.

So what about upgrading? Can you keep your setup via backup if you wipe & move to another ROM?

Also, Corinacakes & b00mb00mchuck, what MM themes are you using? Don't think I've seen either one of those colors.

Yes, you can either upload it to the website, or you can save to your SD. To to that:

    1. Enter Edit mode.
    2. Hit the menu button again.
    3. Select Upload/Export
    4. Click the dropdown at the top of the window where it says "Internet" and select "SD Card".
    5. Enter name and Theme info (if you are going to make this available to others, please provide some meaningful details about the Theme, screen size, device, widgets used, general description, etc.).
    6. Click Upload.
