Alright, I checked the parser and it looks good (Manually edited the smali) I DID find a bug though and it will effect a lot of apps. When I repackage the .apk the "/raw/" folder is being compressed (Its not designed to be compressed). Working on the problem now.

    Matt,

great app, purchased PB earlier today. I've been hoping someone would make an app that did this.

I just want to make sure I understand how to use the app and have a rudimentary understanding of how it works.

    1. scan db to populate a list of apps (might be worth including system apps if you're running a custom rom)
    2. scan apps for risks (single, multi or super secret cheat codes)
    3. select and app with risks, determine if the risks are acceptable or not.
    4. Fix the file
      • fixing involves unpacking and repacking the program. Essentially making a new, safe, program.
    5. choose to store the new apk to the SD or install it over the old version. You don't see the benefit of the "fix" until you install it at time of creation or at a later date from file stored on the SD.

What is the best way to update an app once a new version is released. Devs push upgrades pretty often, which is great, but if you have to fix each time it could become a bit tedious.

Also when I go to the market and look at my apps, I still see the fixed apps listed but when I click on them I am given the install option. Should I see them listed or is it reading cache which has not been update yet?

thanks again for the great app.

Installed on: SGS Vibrant running Darky's 9.3 rom with Overstock v1.5 Kernel.

Hi, Unable to buy in Android Market, my device greyed out & says "this item not available on your carrier" (Vodafone, Australia).
    Any suggestions?

That was the web, going via Appbrain to market on phone says item not found.

Has it been withdrawn for now?

    Thanks!

Your "steps" are 100% correct, So far the best way to upgrade is to "revert" (Long press on app and click "revert") before you "update" from market. After more bugs have been fixed im going to add a cheat code for root users that will enable some awesome features. Although you will still have to "revert" for updates, there is no way around it because the keys are different. (Which is kinda the reason I made this app, so I didnt have to keep "modding" apps like "nfl mobile, skype, blackboard")

Try it again, it should be on there now (I dont know why it was not)

Oh by all means, do what you gotta do. We definitely don't want our games failing. ;)

    Thx!

    Matt,

I went ahead and updated today with the latest version and I gotta say that this just keeps getting better with time ala the finest of wine. I've been able to fix many of the apps that previously have eluded me, but Dolphin HD Mini KS still wanting to be an ass. On older versions Privacy Blocker would just close (not with any error dialog...it would just close) while attempting to fix. Well I tried again and with this release it made it further but still ended up closing, but this time it crashed with a force close dialog. I didn't have the option to "Report" the issue so I figured I'd just zip the logcat log and post it here.

Thanks again man for the innovative tools :)

    James

P.S. Oh yeah let me know if you need any more information from me.
