I've got Advanced task killer, but I see some apps start back up and, I assume, running in the background using up resources... How to you close an app and make sure it doesn't run unless you actually open it? Am I not clicking the right buttons or something?

    examples:

    TIKL
    Verizon
Maps - I have gps and wifi shut off..
    gallery

I can kill these apps with ATK but they pop up again.. I have them set to NOT auto-update..

Then these services that show as running are not using any resources?

Christim.. thanks so much.. that was a much better and informative answer than just "Droid doesn't need that"... I'm not much in the blind-faith dept... it's great when someone actually gives ya some data...

I will cancel the auto-kill on ATK and just use it for stuck programs..
