    Greeting all,

My Droid is stuck in SPRecovery and I'm all out of ideas... to make a long story short, I was running cyanogenmod 5.0.8, and had to do a recovery, after that I had lost super user permissions for ROM manager.

After reading around the forums I ended up flashing a recovery SBF with RSD lite... but now I am stuck in SPRecovery, and I can't do anything from there, can't install a update.zip, and can't reconnect to RSD lite to try another flash.

I'm at a loss... been at it for about 4 hours now

    any suggestions?

    thanks!

    -Razz

What have you tried so far? Why can't you install an update.zip?

Can't you mount the phone from SpRecovery? and then load a new update.zip.

    So far I've tried a couple of "stock" 2.0.1 and 2.1 update.zip's

I also tried the 2.2 one listed on this page... it seems like SPRecovery will not mount the SD card (even though windows can transfer files back and fourth without issue)

    "E: can't mount SDCARD:update.zip
    installation aborted"

Not sure what may be causing this issue for you. Typically, if you can open SPRecovery you should be able to flash a new rom.

Based on your post, I'm thinking that you have a previous update.zip on your SD card or somehow you have been able to add a new update.zip to your SD card. If that is correct, what errors are you receiving when you try to flash a new rom?

Did you make sure to turn off USB storage before trying to flash the new rom?

when the phone boots (go straight into SPRecovery) there is the "mount" section... by default it is disabled, but I've tried doing this not even connected via USB

I had this exact issue a few days ago - spr not reading the sdcard. I took it out and put in the laptop and copied the entire card to a folder and then reformated the card. One caution - do not name it. Then copy everything back to it. This solved the problem for me and spr worked fine for me.

I'm thinking the update.zip is corrupt or has two .zip extensions. At this point my only suggestion is to use the mount function in SPR and try reinstall the update.zip or verify that the is only one .zip extension.
