I attempted to update to 2.2. When it rebooted I am stuck on M screen. It appears everything is loading in the background but the only screen I can see is the M. I attempted to restart and go into recovery but all I get is the M screen. Any ideas?

Has the X got the 2.2 OTA yet? I didn't think it had.

Must be a signed version, 'cause the bootloader is locked

I have 2.2 on mine, and I have no issues. Worked flawlessly.

Did you try removing the battery for a few minutes and then a Recovery boot?? If no bueno, try a hard reset. That's all I can think of.

    1. Turn the phone off.
    2. Hold the Power and Home buttons down for about 5 seconds.
    3. A screen with an exclamation will appear. Tap the Search key.
    4. Confirm the selection.
    5. Select Yes — delete all user data then tap OK.

This should complete the Droid X hard reset.

Go to the hompage, and there is a big article on it. There is a link to download the "Non-Rooted;Update.zip" file or if you're "Rooted" there is a seperate link. Just download a file manager like "AndroZip" or "Astro" and move the "Update.zip" file to the Root of your SD card, boot in Recovery mode; Power off then power on "Power button + Home Button" until it boots to the lil android guy and hit the "Search" button... Select the Update.zip file and BOOM!!!!!! You're rockin 2.2

End up going the hard reset route, still no success with the update.

EDIT: Got it to work. I left it in the M screen for about 15 minutes, and then finally decided to pull the battery. it booted fine after that.
