i think they're two different devices to serve different purposes. the streak is basically a huge cellphone or mini tablet iirc. The Tab is well, a tablet PC and not a phone and definitely can't fit in your pocket for mobility.

I recently checked out the Tab and it was very nice. A bit on the heavy side, but that was pretty much the first tablet i've ever held in my hand. I saw the iPad in the verizon store, but couldn't get my hands on it.

I personally don't see the fad with tablets other than companies want to compete with the iPad. As small as the Tab was compared to the iPad, it felt awkward to hold and using two hands for the keyboard was quite difficult, and believe me i have some pretty big hands, I can't imagine what it would be like on the huge iPad. I'd prefer a netbook, a little heavier, but comes with a proper keyboard and is as mobile as a tablet.
