A new update is being pushed to the Pro starting next week. Anyone wanna bet this "Security Update" will lock your bootloader?
    I'm staying away from it.

Sent from my DROID Pro using Tapatalk

Will this attempt to download and install if I'm on CM9? I know it won't work, so I'd hope it won't even try.

I'm going to apply it because it's supposed to fix all of the issues that were introduced with the GB update. For me that means the flaky keyboard backlight and the the phone turning itself back on after I shut it down. The damn thing was on again this morning after I turned it off before going to bed last night. All this stuff started post GB.

Anyway, is that update out already or not?

I read couple of sites around, some said it has been out on 17th. Some said around the corner.
Some pages even have screenshot, the file size is 19mb.

But I have been abusing the update button for the day and yet nothing comes.

    Anyone successful would report huh?

I haven't been able to get it yet. The phone keeps telling me that my device is up to date.

Thanks for posting that update info! I didn't receive an email from VZW announcing the update. Was I supposed to?
    * IS THERE A WAY TO DECLINE AN UPDATE IF YOUR PHONE ISN'T ROOTED? *
    Thx

Also I'm curious if this update has any affect on mobile.twitter.com
It's been displaying an older looking page, & sometimes the page is blank. Started yesterday. I'm not referring to the Droid App, the mobile website.

    Update:

I just got in touch with Moto live chat staff.

They confirmed that this update is only for Droid Pro machines connected to VERIZON network
Means: If you are not using Verizon, say using AT&T/TMo or outside the States,
This update will not show up, and report as Phone up to date.
    Quite disappointed.

Hope there is any bro around on Verizon, and would be willling to extract the update.zip for us.

    updated.

Beware, No rooting is available yet.
    Old rooting will not work
And rooted machines would also be locked again.:icon_evil:

***Use "OTA RootKeeper" from market BEFORE updating your phone. <- This works

How do you like it so far? My sister is running stock, unrooted (and wouldn't care anyway) and wanted to see if it resolved a few of the issues (random restarting, freezing etc...)
