I have seen posts of 1.45 stable, but I am only able to push 1.35 max without causing the os to freak out and go to a snail's pace. Is it the stock rom or is it that every phone is different? Serious quality control issues on the latter answer if it is.

It is the latter. But quality control issues? Fro a chip that was designed to run at about 600mHz, but could run up to 1gHz, I'd say anything above is just a blessing.

It would still be a quality issue....some are reporting no ability to oc or are on a more minimal level than close to the top....I don't mind 1.35 at all....but 1.1 is close to stock droid 2...only .99 for a prog or two depending on your flavor for optimization and safety....but I can imagine feeling gipped if I only got a 10% increase while my buddy was 35-45%.

The CPU is designed to run at 1,000MHz, or 1.0GHz. Pushing it 35% faster than it's actually designed to do is good. Very few phones will go to 45% faster.

It's not a quality control issue, it's actually a testament to how GOOD quality control is that you can push it THAT much faster than it's supposed to go. :)

+1 ^^^ this. And I didn't realize you were talking about the A955. Did you have that in your profile yesterday morning when I posted? If so, my bad.
