Stock messaging app stop notification tone

I have used the stock app for ever, since couple of months I don't hear the notification tone when I get text. i can see the text, send text, but no notification tone. I have tried the app from verizon, Texra and Messenger, but none has the ability to zoom in the text. i wanna be able to see the text when I don't have reading glasses on, so, only the stock app does it, but can't get around the tone problem. I have checked the setting and the Notification is ON, sound is chosen.

You may want to try deleting and installing the App. Be sure to backup your messages if you want to retain them..

You can adjust text size in Textra under settings

Are you able to hear other notifications? Like for email or anything? Try changing the tone to a different and also check notification volume if you aren't able to hear other alerts.
