I had this issue and it took me forever to fix. Here is what you do.
First rename your sbf file to something short (I named mine 201.sbf) and put it in your root directory (C:\).
Browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\Motorola\RSD Lite, right click SDL.exe and go to properties
Click the Compatability tab and check the box that says "Run this program as an administrator" and hit okay
Then hit start and run "cmd"

Once at the command line type
    cd c:\
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Motorola\RSD Lite\SDL.exe" -f 201.sbf -t 2

That was the only way I could get it to work. If I had the long file name it failed every time. Good luck!

Okay I have 2.2 (FRFxx 49593) finally installed after I found a 32bit windows machine I could use. How do I restore all my apps? Do I have the latest version?

apps should restore on there own in mass right when you start froyo for the first time. you won't see them in the download tab in the market tho, they will just begin to show up installed. Then wierdly enough market stopped working for me yesterday. I've been trying to download two apps overnight with no progress. even with the the market fix from alldroid.

They haven't done that at all. Can I force that process to start?

    I have wifi working fine.

    1. From Windows Download one of the Froyo Overclocked Kernels from here or cached links from here.(I used the 250 - 800 kernel)
    2. Locate the file you downloaded and rename to update(Example: 0.8(s)-v32kernel to update)
    3. On your droid in SPRecovery return to the main menu using Del.
    4. Now copy the update.zip you downloaded to your SD card. (Example H:\update )
    5. Unmount your Droid from Windows and turn off USB Mass Storage
    6. Select install
    7. Select Allow update.zip Installation
    8. Select Install /sdcard/update.zip (deprecated) and wait for it to complete without errors.
Edit: Looks like he made new kernels.
I used the 250 - 800 and set it to use 550 for max.
If you don't want to overclock then use the 600 kernel.
Make sure to download the Froyo 2.2 Kernel.

This is the latest one here that I know of.
After you install you need to redo the kernel and then do the market fix update.

So I guess the only solution is to manually go through and install all my previous apps.

I don't know which you are running.
    I never seen a FRFxx 49593.
    All my apps installed automatically.
