I'm willing to try downloading any updates, and putting on my phone. How, and where are the links? Verizon and HTC say I need to send phone to HTC. Any other possibilities?

Thanks, and Merry Christmas!

Nope, will not be rooting. I have read about installing updates without that. Thank you for the suggestion. :)

I've had two suggestions. The other is for .9. Any difference?

Well, I'm still gingerbreadless. :( I downloaded PGO5IMGmr4.zip, then using Astro, moved it out of Downloads folder. Powered down, then used power button while holding volume down button.

I chose Fastboot, then Bootloader. It very quickly scanned some files, so quickly all I could see were several lines of text, with some .zip files. Then it went back to Bootloader, doing nothing. Finally, I chose Reboot.

Any more ideas? Thanks!

Change the name of the file to "PG05IMG" (with out quotes) and be sure to check that there are no spaces after the G
i have a feeling that you didnt rename the file correctly so lets start there.

Thanks blazednova. But, first, do I use .zip after that, or not?
