Can anyone tell me what the time display in the upper right corner ties to? It appears to be static but then changes at times. Does it tie to a system event of some kind? Can I change it to display real time?

Welcome to Droid Forums olywa! The time display should be showing the real time. If not, go into settings> Date & time> make sure “automatic date & time" and “automatic time zone" are checked.

Both are/were checked to no avail. The circle clock widget shows real time but the status indicator reflects a Wednesday PM time stamp.

Not sure how to do that on a phone. The time display I am referring to is just right of the battery icon in the upper right corner of the display.

To do a screen shot, hold the power button and volume down button at the same time for a few seconds. You could also try powering down your phone and power back on...see if that resets it.
