starting to get fed up with messaging

For anyone interted in a update, I have done some searching and it seems my third issue is fairly common and not just limited to the moto droid and most likely an issue with handcent, one thread had a suggestion to check auto and manual retrieve in the settings, see if that fixes anything

Handcent sending blank text mainly to email addresses 50% of the time. Seams Handcent sends through @vzwpix.com and regular message uses @vtext.com. Looked through settings, but not able to fix it.
Any ideas?

Have you tried removing Handcent and then reinstalling? I had to do that with a different app.

I really don't have a solution for you, but I am yet another droid owner that has none of these problems.
