The old adage "loose lips sink ships" may be true, but it is also true that sometimes that means exciting things for consumers. In this instance, Staples let slip some relevant details about the next generation of Nexus 7 coming out, including release dates and specs. According to Staples, the new tabs should hit retail store shelves on August 31st. Supposedly, the tablets will actually head into Staples inventory on July 24th. The device will perhaps show up on the Google Play Store around the same time. Here's the specs listed for the device,
  • 7-inch display
  • 1.5GHz quad-core processor
  • 32GB of storage
  • 5-megapixel rear-facing camera
  • 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera
  • Android 4.3
  • 1080p output via “slim port”
  • Wireless charging
As you can see some of the specs are a nice upgrade from the previous version, but there are still a few relevant details missing, like screen resolution, type of CPU and the amount of RAM on board. We especially like the idea of built-in wireless charging. It may be a gimmick, but it's pretty slick regardless.

This leak seems to confirm several previous leaks we have seen about the device. We will keep you posted as more details emerge.

Even if it's a pure Google experience, the lack of an expandable memory slot kills it for me. I'm sure I'm not alone on this:blink:
