Question on camera sounds: in ROM toolkit it says 'enabled.' When I take a picture I can hear the focus sound but not the shutter - is that intentional or any idea of how to fix?

Coming back to BB again. There's just no ROM out there that compares. One of these days I'll learn my lesson and just stop trying all these inferior builds.

Totally agree with this statement. I tried GPA 15 and 16 however my original Droid is simply not powerful enough to run them well. BB 0.6.2.1 works beautifully, occasional hiccup notwithstanding.

I can't stand that effect in the application drawer that makes it look like it's rolling away or toward the screen when you scroll. Why is it that every ROM I have tried (with the exception of the UD 2.5 that I'm using now) uses that? I hate the elastic effect it has when I'm trying to scroll and it bounces back when it slows down. When it slows, I want it to just stop wherever it is... not bounce back.

I'm preparing to install this ROM after using UD 2.5 for a long time, and when I saw screenshots, that's the first thing I noticed. Is there anyway to get rid of that and just have a flat plane of icons that scroll up or down?

That is an option in Launcher Pro. "Use 3D drawer", which is disabled by default.

Sorry for the "rant". I just really do hate it that much. Anyway, good to know it's a Launcher Pro option. I guess UD 2.5 is the only ROM I've used that has that built in from the start. Even other versions of UD have the 3D launcher.

I hope he comes back to working on Froyo roms when he gets done with this latest GB build. I really think Gingerbread is a lost cause on the original droid.

6.2.1 Battery life is extended. Takes alot of use now to wear down the battery. Battery lasted night + day = 50% so far. I like to watch mp4 films on the Droid - can do this alot more than with GPA15/16.

Also now I have 2 BP6H Batteries - while one is in the Droid, the other is in an external charger. From my experience with the micro usb port, I'm going to be very careful that it's used for basic USB transfer. Large files of several gigs will still be via card reader with PC.

    - Excellent charger from Verizon

Reputable people: (arrived within one week as described)

    Hotrod Droid!! dancedroid
It's all how you juice your Droid. 2nd battery ready to go vs plugging in a chord to charge. Let go. Be free!!

6.2.1 Bugless Battery life @ 13 hours = 80% battery left. Not bad at all. GPA 16 battery drained after several hours at most.

Seriously the work on the GPA roms is great -but why work on that system if it's slower than 6.2.1? When will there be a bugless update?

Does anybody know a way to add the sweet power down animation that is on the GPA builds to Bugless Beast? Thanks.

To what, besides Bugless, do you attribute such great battery life?

GPA 16 battery life is actually good as well. Watching mp4 videos made from youtube clips (using keepvid on the pc) wears down the battery whether it's Bugless of GPA. Earlier tonight was seeing lagging with GPA 16. Ran Rom Manager "Fix permissions" several times. Rebooted phone. Runs fine now.

Q: What are toomstones? system/data/tombstones. Deleted them. Ran fix permissions.

System app: CPU = 3% at rest (1.2kHz SV 0.3 kernel / GPA16); Mem 25% free / 57M av. (after ending misc apps). Does GB need more mem to work better? Is that advantage of Bugless Beast 6.2.1 - that it needs less mem to operate?

So I thought... if I can't get links2sd, apps2sd (ext method) or anything comparable working on GPA15 or GPA16, I should just use bugless beast as it's more suitable for this device anyways.... but what'ya know...***king modprobe doesn't work on this either..... can someone help me on how to create symlinks? I figure since modprobe is looking for the modules in /lib/modules rather than /system/lib/modules , maybe it will work if I symlink /lib/modules to /system/lib/modules.... so it ends up in the correct place..... anyone help is greatly appreciated... and as I said in the other thread.... if I could get ext 2/3 modules for 0.3 kernels, that would be greatly appreciated pete.....
