So since SS is using some core CM base what are the thoughts of Theme Switcher apk?

I pulled the themeswitcher apk and theme manager apk from UD like another user posted and figured I would test it to see... and it works great! Theme switching colors on the fly is sweet. Downloaded some more themes from the market ( did as search for "cm7 theme") and they are all working fine for me.

Might make my own that I could quickly switch between without having to flash. Of cousre I would stick with my SS. Hahaha

The only reason I excluded that app is because space in /system is so tight, and I had a few of my own things to include - BUT if the masses think it would be really good to have - I can re-include it.

Do it, it'd be sweet, there are lots of themes for it. I also loaded up a theme on cm7 then flashed unthemed ss5 over it and it worked perfectly, no switching though

what location does the theme changer app store the data in?

I know that with the MIUI theme changer app the images resided in /data/system/themes

I personally feel that flashing themes to replace the images (from their source) rather than a directory where the images are checked for first and overide the originals because yeah...it does suck up some space quick. It also limits the themes to a size....and with MIUI the .9.png images would not apply, so basically you couldnt change the 3g or battery icons via the theme manager.

I think its a simply way to apply a theme, but its a sloppy way at the same time. Not very efficient in my opinion.

If a user doesnt have a lot of space taken up with apps etc...then it will be fine. They can always move apps 2 sd to free up some more memory.

The two included in CM also sit there - and if they are moved to /data, they are no longer accessible by the app

Yeah & androidian's 3.73mb which oh pretty big compared to the ones I've picked up on xda. I guess they'll only get bigger when the lockscreen OTF part is included/finished.

Yeah honeycomb itself is about 6.78mb.
I haven't tried to move them to sd yet.
Maybe in test include of those free memory scripts?
I won't mind testing that to see if they do what I hope them to do. Maybe a virtual ram using sdcard?

In CM the base rom comes with 3 themes. One seems to be hard coded (or is in SystemUI.apk), and the other two do sit in /system (androidian and cyanobread). But, I installed the HoneyBread theme via the apk route, and this theme definately is stored in /data.

    FWIW,

    Craig
