What do you get when you load it manually? From terminal:

    load_module ext2

    then:

    lsmod

Not sure if you got to read my post last night, with all the posting going on but I was having problems with app2sd myself, almost every app would fail to move on the first try.

It loads and unloads fine. lsmod shows its working, not sure why link2sd says Mount script cannot be created. The VPN Connections app instantly crashes when trying to connect. I have both options checked in thescript. I am currently using 900mhz kernel low voltage. Kernel change made no difference. I may have to try going back to the Kernels from the original 5.3 rom, the last two sets dont work with VPN.

Even though the modules are loading fine, the devices don't seem to be getting created in /dev the way they are supposed to.

Here's an experiment i tried using Root Explorer:

Try creating a folder in /dev in 5.3 or 5.4. The folder is created and immediately disappears. This doesn't happen in 5.2. I think this may also be happening when the kernel is creating a device in /dev. Hence, the "device" doesn't work.

In the case of VPN, /dev/net/tun is not there and the app crashes.

So is this a rom or kernel issue?

I've been trying to run this on LGB 1.92 using chevys latest kernel in link2sd and no luck. I even tried doing in terminal emulator

    insmod /system/lib/modules/ext2.ko

    I get this in return

insmod: init_module '/system/lib/modules/ext2.ko' failed (No such file or directory)

i even checked in the modules folder and i can clearly see ext2.ko. Not sure what gives

I have a feeling I know what the issue is - and why it's not an issue (or SHOULD not be) in my ROM. ext2 needs mbcache - which means you must insmod mbcache first! I take care of these dependencies in my ROM, so:

    insmod /system/lib/modules/mbcache.ko
    insmod /system/lib/modules/ext2.ko

OK - for anyone having this problem, try this and get back to me (enter in terminal or adb shell):

    sysrw
    rm /system/bin/mkdir

Now - run your stuff again

Well, I found 3 apps I didn't need from the market and moved them to the SD card without any issues. Now I just need to uninstall them, lol. Thanks Chevy.
