For some reason, I can not flash to it. Since Froyo...I've had to flash to someone else's rom entirely, just to go to a rom that I want. Right now I'm flashing a different one and waiting to see if it works, then I'll try Chevy's. Dunno what is up with that though. It's like Froyo doesn't wanna be overwritten...

Doesn't say on Twitter or in the description in Rom Manager. I assume it is tho, but will wait until Chevy officially posts here and lets us know himself. If it is I will be running it.

Wow. That was a painless, fast install. Coming from Sapphire 0.6.0, though, so no need to wipe/reinstall all the apps.

edit- and so far 4.2 isn't giving me the wifi dropouts that 4.1 was. Nice. That's always been my issue with the leaked Froyo ROM's.

    S.S 4.2 is Awsome

I love this new rom ...In my opinion this is possibly the smoothest running froyo Rom s.s 4.2 has noticeable script changes for running a 1ghz kernel it is blazing fast I might try to flash the kernel to 1.2ghz but right now I am happy with this 1 ghz kernel I came from the ONIX ROM with no system wipe !!!!!!!

Faster install ....Faster Reboot runs really smooth Easiest rom change for froyo by far.......

The easiest wipe install I've ever done, and I've done a bunch. BKAPPS and RSTAPPS worked flawlessly. Running 1.2 GHz, with no issues for two hours of heavy use.

Working flawlessly for me as well. Though rstapps didn't work but I think I saw a post about needing to push an update for it to work in 4.2 so not worried about it. Gotta say so far it seems smoother than the 4.1.

Also thanks for including the stock theme Chevy :)

Ack. Started running into the same ol' wifi drops when under heavy usage. Its not necessarily Chevy's work on the ROM, its just an issue I have between the Froyo leak ROM and the wifi connection with our Airport. I've had the issue with every version of Froyo (and I've tried all the flavors) except Sapphire 0.6.0. No idea why, really.

I do love the blue theme, though. :D

When I downloaded the ROM, the BKAPPS update wasn't there, or maybe I just missed it. So I did a backup with the existing, and gave it a try. Obviously didn't work, so I copied the BKAPPS from the update to SD, restored my Nandroid bu, ran the new BKAPPS, and reapplied the update. Then RSTAPPS ran successfully. I thought it had run perfectly, but later discovered it had missed a few apps, which I restored with Titanium.

On a subsequent visit to RM, I discovered that the BKAPPS update was there for download.

Not sure why it missed some apps. I'll play around with it tomorrow and see what happens. But still a very smooth process minus my misguided first attempt.

BKAPPS and RSTAPPS are spectacular. I've wanted this for a long time. Waiting for download from Google is a PITA, and Titanium has to be reinstated and doesn't back up the account info. This makes everything much easier. Now if someone could just make widgets reload properly...

BTW, N8Dyddy has an interactive cleanup script for removing the common targets for removal. I haven't tried it yet, but planning to give it a try tomorrow.

As long as you are still running a FRF57 version ROM, you shouldn't ever need to wipe. The problem arises for those who are coming from ESE81 2.1 ROMS to FRF57 2.2 ROMS.

If for some reason the official froyo 2.2 release code changes the version from FRF57 to some other alpha numeric character, then you will need to wipe.
