Just received some upgrade on VZW, but am still on 5.0.1. Perhaps in preparation for 5.1?

That was likely the Security patch that I posted about the other day. We're assuming it's a stagefright fix at this point. I downloaded Lookout's Stage Fright Detector (after installing the patch) and ran it. Got a clean bill of health.

There are a handful of Stagefright Detector apps in the Play Store. I chose to use the one by Lookout Security, since I've known about them longer than this Zimperium or whatever, though they're the ones who supposedly alerted Google to the problem.

I wouldn't think so. It's not like a full antivirus app. It just scans to see if the exploit could be triggered on your device. I ran it, saw that I got a good result, and uninstalled it. Haha
