Here's a news piece with an embedded deal alert. Apparently Verizon hasn't copyrighted the use of the color red after-all. Ironically, Sprint will be getting the first exclusive Red HTC One smartphone, and not "Big Red." Not only that, but Sprint decided to inaugurate this "crimson" victory by offering a BOGO deal on the same day as the launch.

The deal will start tomorrow and end on August 30th, and it applies to all three colored versions of the device: Silver, Black & Red. Grabbing one of these devices before and/or after the BOGO deal will run you $199.99, whereas the deal nets you two of them for the same price.

I really don't understand different companies taking exclusives on non-brand colors, but I guess red is a pretty sought after option. I think it was AT&T that had a red exclusive S3 or some such before. Still seems a little silly.
