My cousin told me that he got SPRecovery on his Droid X via an app, and never used rsd lite. He then told me that he though he saw an app that would put SPRecovery on a OG Droid without rsd lite.

Can anyone enlighten me on this subject?

Awesomee! I'm getting my Droid tomorrow and I'm trying to figure out what method I want to use to do everything.
I've put much consideration into all methods I've seen, and I've decided I'm going to

    Root with z4root
    Flash SPRecovery with ROM manager
    Backup
Flash Ultimate Droid with ROM manager
and that's all i've got for now.

Pretty sure ROM manager only flashes Clockwork. Infact, positive.
I think have have to RSD for SPrecovery.

You're right, I just looked it up!
Do you know of a program that will flash SPRecovery from the phone?
I've done much researching, and it seems that SPRecovery is preferred over clockwork. If not, I'll just use RSD Lite then.

Are you for sure? Because I just watched a video of ROM manager on youtube, and I only saw the option for Clockwork..

However, Rom Manager will only flash a new ROM to your phone with Clockwork installed. You will have to flash the rom manually with SPRecovery.
