Last night I finally rooted my Droid 1 but I am having some problems flashing roms and themes, mostly with bootloops. A question I have before troubleshooting things myself is:

Can I restore everything with a nandroid backup after wiping the cache/data? Will my nandroid backup still be there if I wipe everything? So if I wipe and something goes wrong flashing the new rom I can just recover from my nandroid backup, even though I wiped everything?

If I need to clarify my question, please don't hesitate to ask.

Your backups will be on your sdcard so they will still be there after you wipe your phone

Yes. A restore brings it back to the point of the backup.

Ok. So when you do the "wipe data/factory reset" and the "wipe cache partition" neither of those affect the sd card?

Nope, just never choose to partition your sdcard (idk if that's in SPRecovery I use clockwork)

Correct it only wiped the memory on the phone not the external sdcard. If you want to wipe the sdcard you have to plug it into a PC and format it.

Sounds like your sdcard maybe bad. Backup your card to your pc, format it, then put everything back and see if that helps.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

By the way, if you're using Clockwork Recovery there IS an option to format the SD card.

    Don't do that. :D
