I've looked up and down, left and right, and still haven't seen anyone with this particular problem.

I rooted my phone using RSDlite and uploading the sbf with SPRecovery.
Then pushed the SU and Superuser.

Everything went fine after a few tries. Phone booted, made a simple backup.

A few days later I installed a LV Chevy kernel to overclock, no problems.

A few weeks later I was playing with Themes and I got it locked up. Did a simple restore of the only backup I had ever made (lessen learned) and the phone would only boot to the "M" logo. Tried several times with same result. As I was freaking out, I noticed I still had the Chevy kernel update.zip in the root directory, so I figured what the heck and installed it again. Voila, I'm fully opperational again...backup, backup. Ignore until later

Later: I was playing with the 2.2 nandroid backup, trying to get it to work and found that I still cannot get a restore to take without loading Chevy's kernel. I even tried to restore the 2.2 and install a p3 kernel with no luck.

Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Apparently, I'm the only one with this issue....which is what I figured. At least I still have a working 2.1 w/oc, I just wish I could figure out how to get 2.2 to work

Try a complete wipe in SPRecovery. That should stop the looping, that happened to me too.

As in a Data/Cache wipe? I forgot to mention I've tried that a few times, all with the same results. I just can't get any Nandroid backup to work without reinstalling the Chevy kernel. I am almost of thinking of doing a factory reset, but I'm afraid to lose usage of my phone completely. When I do the advanced restore, am I supposed to Asterik every option? Why isn't the kernel in the backups working....very frustrating.

I suggest backing up at least weekly and before any major change to the device. I use cm recovery for most things except backups, I still use sps for that for a few reasons the main one being speed.
