Sound is on, but no notification sounds???

So i have the DX obviously <--- and i have my ringer set to full volume, and my notification set to full volume. I have downloaded the Chomp SMS app from the market place, and i really like it, so i've turned off the original DX text Messaging system from the DX settings. In the Chomp sms settings i've chosen my ringtone for my notifications (downloaded from Zedge, from market) and it has been working for weeks. and now it jsut stopped. My phone is not rooted, i use Go launcher for my homescreen, which i doubt would do anything to this. and i have only downloaded like 3 apps not from the marketplace (4shared), that i doubt would affect the sound settings. help please!

Have you tried rebooting the phone.

You can also try wiping the app data and set it up again. Just a thought if rebooting doesn't work. I use go sms and have stock message notification disabled as well. It's by far my favorite sms client.
