    Greetings,

I have one of these phones, and I have tried several methods to root it. UnlockRoot Pro, SuperOneClick, DooMLoRD's Zergrush, psneuter, Gingerbreak, the Gingerbreak APK, manually using ADB to try psneuter or Gingerbreak, etc. Either the programs in question fail to root or it always hangs during the root program process. I've set everything up correctly, as far as I know, with the USB Debugging mode, proper installation of ADB, enough space free on the phone and the SD Card, etc. Nothing works! Has anyone been able to root this phone? Is there something I'm missing?

    Regards,
    Zorpheus

If you are running 2.2.4 you will need to revert back to 2.2.3 and SuperOneClick should work.

I run 2.3.4, actually. Is there an easy way to downgrade? Would it do me any good? What would I need to downgrade to?

You will need to get 2.3.3 from the Sony support site.

All right. If I got 2.3.3, then rooted, then upgraded to 2.3.4, would it undo the root?

It will most likely break root.
