It looks like Sony Ericsson is sticking to their promise of bringing Ice Cream Sandwich to their Xperia Lineup quickly. Friday, they submitted their Xperia Neo and Xperia Arc up for Android 4.0 certification with the PCRB body. If they get it as soon as they are wanting to, it will make for a dramatic turnaround for them. They will change from being the slowest manufacturer at updating to new Android software, to become the fastest. Although these were the only ones checked by the source of this story, it looks like they are submitting others in the Xperia lineup as well. Interestingly, you can pick up the Xperia Arc and the Xperia Neo "unlocked" at Newegg for $350 and $300 respectively, which is pretty competitive.

What do you guys think? If Sony does become the best manufacturer at updating their handsets to new Android software quickly, would you consider/reconsider them?

Sony Ericsson has really kicked up their android game. Just last year they were late to the party with 1.6 phones. Then at the beginning of the year all their new phones launched with 2.3. All while the big guns (Moto and HTC) were released 2.2 phones.

Now they seem to be the first to get their phones to ICS.

Good for them.
