Hello everyone! So I just want sites or tips or anything explaining rom, themes, and installation.
I have the droid 1, my fiance has the x, and I have a fascinate as well.
So I know how to use the stock android systems. I'm running
Froyo 2.2.2 now. Its ok to start a basic as possible!
    Thanks!!

Theres a lot of info that could be thrown at someone when they first learn to theme. One way to learn is to use Metamorph and/or Ninjamorph. Heres some info on that: GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program for editing images, 7-Zip for opening zip files(like roms and morphs) and some info on metamorph: How to MetaMorph/Theme - xda-developers. You could start by editing a metamorph that works for your phones by using 7zip to open and swap files.

When you open meta morph and press unzip/extract theme, you should see the zip files. Can you verify the files are there with a file explorer?

You don't have 2 android theme folders by chance? If not, try deleting the ones you put there then reload them back again. BTW, Astro or root explorer are good file explorers.

So you got it to find to the files? Did you make your own meta morph or download one? Can you give a link to the morph your using?

Whats the name of the theme? Or can you give me a link from appbrain.com? There was a change to meta morph a while back and was thinking the theme may not be up to date for some reason. There is also droidpirate.com. But be careful if you use their battery morphs. Some of those are in increments of 20% and your phone probably uses 10% increments. Maybe try one of their morphs to see if meta morph works with your phone.

Uninstall, reboot, and re-download MM. When you Start Checks, that should automatically put the Android Themes folder on your SD card.

There are other ways to apply themes. You could install a rom. Then install a theme for that rom. What theme/look are you after? Have you tried droid pirate?

I like your attitude about not giving up. Sometimes struggling through something is the best way to learn. You never learn by giving up.

A rom for the droid, just a software or how do I manage that? And I just like to have a different style, I like black and red combo or teal. Something creative and edgy but smooth

Before you flash a rom, do your homework. I wouldn't worry about which rom at first. Once you understand how to flash one, you can always change back and forth. You can find them in the droid x section under rom's. Most devs have instructions for their rom's.

I would start by picking a rom, lets say liberty, and read through the 1st post. If you don't understand something, read through the thread for the answer or google it. It's important to understand what problems you may have to deal with. Whatever rom you choose, if you have a problem with it, post your question in that thread.

BTW, another way to change the look of your droid is with a homescreen launcher like ADW or LauncherPro. Theres themes on the market for those, too.
