the ONLY thing that appeals to me about rooting is overclocking. my motorola milestone is from a regional cell phone company called appalachian wireless. it's a great phone for what it is, but the 550mhz processor really shows itself a lot of the time. i'm sure i would end up doing plenty of other things to it once i root it, but overclocking is the main reason. other than that i'm content with the phone. is rooting and then overclocking something relatively simple, or will i have to get down and dirty with this thing and reinstall a crapload of stuff?

well, i did it, i couldn't wait. i used universal androot and overclocked with Milestone Overclock. took no more than a minute. hopefully nothing goes wrong, but i'm back to using it normally, it was simple. i'd say it'll be fine.
