I'll replace it with something while the offer is there, but turning off and returning is the rendered inoperable part.

That's a good question whether replacement would be honored indefinitely. Typically when there is a recall, manufacturers will honor that recall for years. I believe it would be Samsung who would have to honor the recall but for carriers, it would be up to them. But then again, maybe not. The second recall on "safe" N7's was voluntary. Samsung might decide, "sorry too late" if someone waited too long. It would be worth finding out what Sammy will do for any N7's that are still out floating around next year.

And for those of you that have a Note 7 and still haven't ordered your free watch or micro SD card from Sammy, jump on that asap. My SO forgot and didn't end up ordering hers until a week after the original Note 7 recall. Her watch is due to arrive this Thursday, so it stands to reason that they are still honoring that promo. Even if the promo is no longer "officially" active, I'm willing to bet Samsung will still provide the item simply to keep their customers happy after said fiasco. It's worth a try at least.... all they can do is say no.

I would! Lol! I'm sure if I owned the N7, I would be holding onto it until it caught fire (which I have doubts would happen). Given that we don't even know if the five are even legitimate claims, I'm still skeptical that there was ever a problem. This wouldn't be the first time a company's reputation was fraudulently sabotaged.

Costco had a deal on the S7, not the edge, so I guess I'll check Best Buy tomorrow, happy and crazy with the Note 7.
