The poor Pixel 2 XL is getting quite a bit if bad press and feedback already. Now people are complaining of screen burn-in just days after getting theirs. I have to say I'm a bit leery about getting one right now. Wonder if Google is going to switch displays before too much damage is done.

Some Google Pixel 2 XL units already have a display burn-in problem, including ours

which explains why they also have a color issue. brighter colors would cause screen burn-ins if the screen is already prone to it.

It doesn't sound like something I'd expect just new phones are shipping differently.. Maybe update software but just doesn't make sense to me..

Part of me is like this is what I predicted because we know LG Nexus have a bad reputation during the first few weeks of release. The Nexus 5 is considered one of the best Nexus phones but I still remember the pitchforks over the speaker issues. After the first couple of batches the phone was fine.

My concern is will this turn into a Galaxy Nexus issue where we keep hearing excuses and everything's fine only to learn that the people complaining was right.

I'm a Pixel/Nexus fan so it's clear where my allegiance lie, I just don't want to go all fanboy and allow a real issue to get pushed off because of my excitement and desire for the pixel 2xl to be a beast of a phone.

Despite all this I'm still checking daily to see if my phone has shipped yet only to have the disappointed look when it hasn't
