So my rooted Droid runs a quicker benchmark than a stock DX...so anyone overclocked it yet? I can imagine if we're running double & upwards in overclocking speeds does that mean DXers will overclock to 2ghz?!

If so thats some sick speed!

Your rooted Droid "with an overclockable kernel" installed runs faster.

Root is only superuser access to the system files. Remember that the Droid X still has a locked bootloader which prevents replacing the kernel with one that supports overclocking.

It may be a while before we see overclocked Droid X's..

It may not be the case. Droid was "underclocked" to begin with, which is why it has been successfully been pushed to much higher speeds. I haven't read anything where the DX has been "underclocked" in the same way.

Ha...c'mon man, you know what I meant, of course with my overclocked kernel I run faster.

Didn't know if the rom developers out there have came out with kernels for the X's yet.

It was factory underclocked by 50mhz (600mhz to 550mhz). That doesn't make it so it can magically overclock to twice it's speed.

Maybe I should have elaborated a bit more. I should have been referring to the chip itself. It is capable of being heavily overclocked, hence the quotes. A different chip is used for the Droid X so it is possible it can't be pushed in the same way the Droid has.
