Has someone written a .apk mod to allow changes to the white background in gmail? I have searched and been unsuccessful. I really like the black messenger background with my smoked theme.

I would like to get into this myself. I have been cracking open APKs for a while and altering all of the images in teh framework and such... but I still don't know how to alter the XML files to change this kind of stuff.

I have an altered SMS app that is black, and I would really like a Talk app thats black too. If you change the background you woudl have to alter the font color too tho...

Seems like this would be a good app to crack. It looks really lame every time I check my email.

I really like my smoked glass theme with the round battery icon. Is there a reason the app cannot be altered, or is it that no one is interested in doing it? Just wondering if it's possible or not.
