Can anyone make this happen for me? All my other widgets are smoked glass, I have no idea how to do it myself, and I dont even know where to start with this. Thanks!

I had a look at it and its to complicated for me... if it just had a background png file like most widgets I could have done it, but its to crazy to even mess with..

I looked into this for you guys and here is the skinny. The xml file for the background points to a website for the background. I think theoretically the source could be changed to point to the drawable folder. Is that right or am I just dreaming? I am not a programmer by any means but that just logically makes sense to me.

Thats an interesting one. Can you pull the background and view it? It might be easier to host the background, and point the XML to the new host? I dont know anything about this either.

The web address in the xml file is just a blank website, my guess is that it is the developers website. I THINK that the background for this widget is just a series of 8 digit color codes. If we can edit the last 6 to all 0's then the background will be all black. Edit both the top background color code, and the bottom color code, and we have an all black background. The first two, if I understand correctly, control transparency. So if we can edit the digits to be a transparent black code, we will have a smoked glass look for this... I am having trouble opening the xml files though... I am looking at editing with eclipse, but i don't know the details. So if anyone has info as to how to edit these files, we could be on our way to editing background colors for this widget.

Otherwise, the buttons on the left and right side of this widget are just images and can be edited to smoked glass right now relatively easily. The background is the complicated half.

Hope to get some help editing this xml soon,

    Thanks,
    SportsterBK8

Ok, if this is too hard to do, is there a sports ticker widget that is skinable?

why not just use googles scoreboard app? one of the two skins is a transparent black. that's what i'll be using once the regular season yankees games start.
