Slow loading

Ok so I was just on youtube last night at my house and videos load quick and barely no buffer time...now im at the same place with the same amount of bars and it takes forever to load. I heard about Verizon throttling data because of the iphone release but is this why? I pay money for my bill and don't want to have data to a crawl or I am switching carriers. Is there a hack or speedfix for this?
