Slideshow is useless on DROID

The slideshow on DROID sucks. All it shows is the initial blurry picture,
it never gets clear. I increased the interval to the max available
thinking it might not be getting enough time to load it, which it
should (preload next image). I mean how difficult it can be?
Might as well not have the feature! Looks like they added this
feature just to have it "tick" marked that we have it!

It worked perfectly on my perfect STORM! Even the transition
on the STORM was so smooth and pleasing to eyes unlike
DROID.

I also had pictures cropped and resized to 854x480 pixels,
so that there is no work for the device to do in order to
display at native resolution. No luck, still the same
result. Arrrghhh........

Also you can not slide the pictures manually to left or right.
In order to move to the next or previous picture, you need
to touch the screen, wait for those funny obscuring stuff to
show up and exactly touch the arrow! How ridiculous!

Really? I have the latest update, I bought the device on Dec 11 and got the update same day.
I assume I have 2.1.

Can you please tell me the steps you do? Here is what I do:
Gallary->Menu->Slideshow (At this point it asks me what would
I like to use, Astro or Camera) -> I select Camera. (Selecting Astro goes nowhere).

Thanks in advance.

2.1 is a hack. the latest public version is 2.0.1. don't confuse the two.

slideshow works perfect on my phone. when you go into the gallery, are your pictures clear?

i ran the slideshow real quick and do notice how they pre-load before they load, but they always turn clear. have you installed other gallery apps?

I go Gallery - then I select a folder that I have images stored - then menu - slideshow. Select "View Picture" as my viewer (not astro) and then the pics load and thats it.

I did the same, but the images are still blurry in the slide show. If I stop the slide show and view
it normally, it sharpens after a second or two. Are you sure you are not noticing it?

May be try to load without slide show and pay a little extra attention to see how sharp the image
is and then go back to slide show. Use an image with faces that are in far mode to see the clear
distinction.

Something isn't right here. When I first read this post last night I said to myself "I don't remember that". Sure enough< I tried the slideshow this morning (only the 2nd time I've ever actually used it) and the pictures don't even initially come in blurry and then half a second later come in full res. They started off in full res.

Something must be wrong with your phone. I would suggest maybe rebooting it and trying it again? I'm not sure what would cause this problem, but I can assure you its not happening to everyone.

If you fix it let me know what method you used, I'm curious.

I rebooted, removed the battery and inserted back in. No luck. Still the same behavior.
Without slide show, it loads blurry at first (when I say blurry, it is still visible just not
high res), then clears up.

Any one else?

I don't believe it is specific to my phone. This can not be hardware issue. Any one running latest 2.0.1 should experience same behavior. It's just not as obvious unless you pay close
attention to it. When I say "blurry", it is not "hard to see blurry", even the process of clearing
up is not very evident unless you are detail oriented like me.

Don't worry i have the same problem. They are blurry, cropped terribly, and the transition could be smoother. I am hoping 2.1 will fix this problem, and many others.
