Unless their partnership means that Verizon = Google, I think I manage to minimize the amount of data Google collects on me. I mean, does all browsing done on the stock browser go through Google proxies, like with Skyfire..?

That would seem rather inconvenient for Google, to put it mildly. Sure, all Google searches done obviously go through them, but all content as well? I'm not sure how that would work. My connectivity comes either through 3G (VZW), or WiFi (my own ISP). VZW would have no reason to have their traffic running through a Google proxy when they could just hand over the browsing data, if that's in their partnership agreement.

But if I'm browsing with the stock browser on WiFi, Google sees nothing. Unless that stock browser is sending info to them. I don't recall any sort of ToS for the stock browser itself, but then again...

We are being watched and monitored whether we like it or not. I use Google to search and all searches are gathered, and can be matched up to my ip. And this is the same for any search engine. Even if they're not monitoring the content, the iP of the web address will reveal the website and therefore the content (indirectly). Yes I view porn rarely, so what?? Unless it's illegal content (kiddie porn etc), I'm not worried. If skyfire didn't keep track of me, Google and the porn site itself did.

Once an ip is obtained from your provider and you venture out on the web, all bets are off regarding privacy.

yeah....um...i dont know if anyone wrote about this yet but skyfire with the flash decoding + moviesister.com or moviefather.com = movies you can watch audiois a bit low though.... pm me if u wanna know how to do it!!!!

I haven't read the entire thread, but there is an update available in the market for the Skyfire browser. Version 2.01 is available.

Seems like it's a little faster with the update. It did crash on me once though, so they haven't nailed down the stability yet, but it's so good, I can deal with the occasional crashes

I saw a bunch of people getting upset about the TOS on another site, but really nothing you do in this life is private. I just figure that I'm not looking at anything even remotely interesting. Even if looking at porn, chances are it's nothing that's going to fascinate someone whose job it is to monitor what people are looking at online. There are so many millions of people looking at so many millions of things that nothing you do is going to cause someone at Google or Skyfire or anywhere to go, "Holy hell, Jim! Get over here and see what Steve on Elm St. is looking at!"
Half the time even when people are looking at suspicious or even illegal sites no one notices until way after the fact, and only then because the FBI took their computer to dig through.

Kind of like when you go to the store. You're on security camera most of the time, even when you're on the street/sidewalk and then the store and your bank or credit card company and anyone else who is interested can keep track of what you buy and where you shop.
My boss' wife was all in a tizzy a few weeks ago because she just found out that those Kroger cards and CVS cards and all those things are just for the store to monitor and keep track of what people are buying.

So this is nothing new and I figure, as long as I'm not doing anything I shouldn't (and half the time even if I am!) no one is really going to care.

'explore' from the bottom menu is empty

-Also hulu is not working for me. seems to load then a message from hulu saying that the video is not supported on my device

^^ hmm that's weird. When I hit explore I had many choices. Can you tell me which video you were trying to view? You can also pm me if you prefer.

For hulu, I heard after the message loads, if you try again it should load up the video. I also heard hitting video or explorer should work. I only tried it for a little yesterday using the explore method and I was able to view some videos.
